I think one day we will look back on this holiday season and laugh, we are calling our experience The Year of the Leaks. It all started a week before Thanksgiving when I awoke to a tap, tap, tap sound, it was water leaking onto my Grandmothers desk from the bedroom ceiling. After all was said and done, my Waverly wallpaper was riped off the wall, the ceiling torn down and I was not a happy camper. Then last weekend I went into my basement studio to find yet another leak that almost ruined my half scale dress bodices, fabric and sewing machine. Before I knew it the kitchen door frame was removed to access the source of the leak, you see in this old house some of the pipes run not through the wall, rather through door frames. I found myself in the Kitchen watching as the baseboard was removed, more Waverly wall paper riped from the wall, another door frame taken apart all so the galvanized pipes could replaced.
We are now sleeping in the living room.
V sincerely promised me this little cottage will be put back together by Christmas Eve, I certainly hope so. As a consolation and totally taking advantage of the situation I went shopping for new bedroom and kitchn odds and ends.
While V is in work mode I am contemplating weather or not to venture out into the Holiday madness for knitting and sewing supplies, or to just stay home and sip hot tea while sewing.
